Our constitution

This is the document which governs how we run the Dobwalls Memorial Hall as a charity.  It is based on the ACRE Model Document constitution for a village hall, which is a standard constitution for village halls approved by the Charity Commission.  Press the button below to download the constitution in PDF form.

Trustees

Trustees are generally elected at the AGM for a period of one year (see constitution 9.4).  New trustees must be proposed in writing between 14 and 35 days before the AGM, signed by the proposer and the prospective trustee, with the details required by the Charity Commission (see below) and with their reasons for wanting to be a trustee and any special knowledge or experience which may be useful.  Trustees must be at least 16 years old and must not have unspent convictions for various offences or other legal disqualifying reasons (see below).  To propose a prospective trustee for election, please press the button below to download a proposal form and email the completed scanned form to us using the mail button at the bottom of the page.

    dishonesty or deception

  unspent sanction for contempt of court

  being on sex offenders' register
